The Natufia Smart Garden is equipped with 32 pots to grow 32 plants simultaneously. When running at full capacity, you can expect one to two harvests every day.

The unit requires connecting it to the water main, drainage and electricity – as a dishwasher. We recommend connecting it to your local WIFI network to benefit from the latest software updates. Yes, there are 3 playlists in the machine: Classical, ambiance and nature sounds. Many studies show that music and vibrations help to grow strong and healthy plants.

All materials and components were thoroughly tested to last over the 10 years milestone. The Natufia Smart Garden was designed by chefs for chefs and therefore designed to last.

Overall very little. We recommend once a year maintenance check and cleaning for optimal results. The machine’s on board computer provides users with an easy step-by-step cleaning and maintenance program. When operated professionally, we recommend running the maintenance and cleaning twice a year. Alternatively, our local Natufia certified teams can also do a professional cleaning.
Routine maintenance (some min per day): remove dry leaves, remove some green algae, rinse the cups after harvest…
Water tank maintenance (30 min, recommended every 2 months): clean the Water tank filters, rinse the sensors…
Automated full water system maintenance (3 h, recommended once per year).

The lights are low-voltage LED. They consume less energy than a standard fridge. The water works on closed cycles for 10 days before flushing / refilling. It consumes the equivalent of 1 toilet flush a day (or 30 toilet flushes during a month).

The Natufia Smart Garden tank holds 40 liters ( 10.6 gallons) of water.

In Natufia Smart Garden, the water gets changed automatically. The machine receives the water from the tap and drains into the outlet.

Natufia covers the first two years of warranty no matter where the machine was bought. After that, the warranty depends on your sales contract with the local retailer that will deliver and install the machine. Most of them offer extended warranty contracts.

Fill in the water tank with either tap or bottled water.

The Natufia One tank holds 40 liters (10.5 gallons) of water. We recommend topping off your water weekly to ensure your plants always have the water they need.

To empty the Natufia One tank, place the draining pipe in an empty bucket, switch the valve to drain and while the draining pipe is in the empty bucket, turn on the motor.

With Natufia One, you need to top your water every 1 or 2 weeks.

Yes, of course. We can supply you with empty seedpods for that. You would just have to plant the seed inside the capsule and place it in the nursery to get the organic growth process starting. Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee the success of the germination or the growth, as our computer have not been trained to your particular seeds. Feel free to contact us at hello@natufia.com if you wish us to download particular growing conditions in your unit.

Keep your seedpods away from moisture, in the dry and dark place. 

We do not recommend purchasing nutrients and pH bottles outside of our website. Visit the Seedpods page for more information. The nutrients have been selected to maximize the germination and growth of the plants. Please note the unit won’t be guaranteed anymore if you use other nutrients or pH bottles.

Our computer creates a nutrient-rich solution and perfect environment that will fit most of the plants living together. As long as the plants’ needs are not too extreme, they can grow together. It is a bit like in your garden, a certain set of conditions fits most of the plants.

In case you see nutrient residue or algae. clean the cup with water to remove algae or nutrient residue.

Different plants have different life cycles. Most herbs grow within 3-4 weeks starting from the first step in the nursery until step 3.

There are no pesticides and plant hormones or any other suspicious substances in our products. We use organic non-GMO heirloom seeds. All produce is grown,  harvested,  and eaten at peak freshness with no lost nutritional value.

We have tested over 100 herbs and plants and the list keeps extending as we are continuously testing new seeds. We are working to have a bigger selection/variety of pre-packaged seeds in the near future. Some examples here:

Leafy greens: lettuce, kale, spinach, cilantro, mint, basil, arugula, celery & parsley 

Culinary herbs: thyme, rosemary, lavender, and dill 

Herbal teas: peppermint, chamomile, lemongrass, sage, and stevia

Flowers: calendula, celosia, snapdragon

Vegetables: cherry tomatoes, baby eggplants, chili peppers, and 

Fruits: strawberries, and beets

Plants will be ready within 5-6 weeks after being moved to the main chamber for vegetables and flowers. Herbs can be harvested within 3 weeks. 

You can’t go wrong with harvesting – all you have to do is simply snip either single outer leaves or grab a bunch of them and cut them with scissors.  You can also partially harvest most plants if you’re not ready to pull them from your garden.

 Most of your plants do not need pruning, but it can improve fruit and vegetable production when you trim. We recommend but not compulsory, to trim the roots once a week to improve ventilation, and prevent water from getting clogged and not passing through to other cups.

Natufia does not compromise on products’ quality. Plants grown with the Natufia technology have 400% more vitamins and Beta carotene than plants from organic retail shops.

1- Because the plants are grown in a perfect environment offering optimal growth conditions.

2- Because the plants are harvested and consumed right away: there is no nutritional depletion. This is the reason why Michelin star Chefs are using Natufia technology every day: more nutritional value, better taste!

Natufia has no ambition to create Frankenstein machines. Our ambition is to stay close to complete natural conditions, simply because we aim at keeping the authenticity of the original taste of our products. Most of the plants grow a bit faster than your outside garden. In other words, plants are growing as in nature if optimum conditions are met.

Hydroponics is a subset of hydroculture – a method of growing plants without soil by instead using mineral nutrient solutions in a water solvent. It uses less water, and the produce is grown in an optimized environment without pesticides.

Natufia technology is all about automation. You do not need to be a botanist export to grow your favorite plants!

Our LED lights have an expected lifespan of 50,000 hours which equates to over 5 years of continuous use higher than the lifetime of the product.

Yes,  it’s perfectly fine to leave your gardens on their own while you’re away.  Growing in Natufia One you can leave your plants for 2 weeks maximum. While growing in Natufia Smart Garden you can take a vacation up to 6 weeks and enjoy having an indoor forest when you come back.

In case of water,  electricity outages the cups have a reservoir that holds water so in case of a power or water outage plants can survive for a day or two in both gardens. 

 In case of WiFi outages in Natufia Smart Garden,  the garden should continue to operate normally until it is back online! If you have any difficulties getting reconnected, reach out to Customer Support at hello@natufia.com
