Happy Liver Smoothie Recipe

During our earlier conversations with Leslie Korn, a  Harvard Medical School-trained traumatologist specializing in mental health nutrition and integrative approaches to treating the mind and body, we talked about the significant decrease in the nutritional value of food over the years which eventually affected our mental and physical health. With that being said, Doctor Leslie Korn suggested a few recipes,  that we need to eat to improve our energy levels, and well-being, and enhance our productivity and focus. 

Chinese Medicine suggests that a sluggish liver makes a person angry, so if we enhance the liver function, we reduce anger and improve our mood! 

This smoothie combines all the ingredients necessary to improve liver function. Lecithin (phosphatidylcholine). Phosphatidylcholine is found in eggs, soybeans, mustard, and sunflower. Phosphatidylcholine helps break down fat in the liver and improve brain function.

Ingredients

1 cup hemp or almond milk

1 teaspoon lecithin granules

1 to 2 teaspoons parsley

3/4 cup fresh blueberries

Stevia or raw local honey (optional)

Directions

Add the ingredients to a blender and blend until combined. Drink once a day for 3 to 6 months.
